Are You Ready for some..... Eye Candy?!

I love to stitch; you all know that! I love my family; you all know that! I love my friends and I love chocolate; of course, you all know that. But, did you know that I love my Sampler Guild!? I mean really, you could not meet a group of more creative or talented women anywhere. I always come home from Guild on a bit of a high. Very excited about what our next project is going to be. Giddy over the efforts of folks like Judy and Nancy and MarLynn (you'll see why in a minute). It's a good feeling. Everyone brings so many beautiful things to share that I feel blessed, and insecure all at the same time. Finishing, as you know, if you read this little blog of mine with any regularity at all, is not my strong suit. I'm not sure what is but it isn't finishing. And I'm not just saying that to be modest. My mind doesn't think the way it needs to think to finish things. I'm not a patient person which is, I think, one of the keys to being a great finisher. Anyway, I digress. If you belong to the Kindred Spirits Sampler Guild (KSSG), you have access to some wonderful projects. I am determined to finish at least a few of these special things this year. Let me apologize for the poor quality of these pictures. We were in a gym and the lighting is terrible and my photographic skills aren't much better. Just imagine each of these projects about 1,000 times prettier than they look here.

First up is Judy's KSSG basket. We can all order these baskets at a fairly reasonable price. And yes, DEB and I both have them but do we have the bands done? Noooooo. But, we are determined to do so. Isn't Judy's basket gorgeous? I love the colors she chose to stitch her band with; what do you think? Of course, the inside is lined and lovely, too.

The band says, "When I count my blessings and my riches, I count my friends who count their stitches". Awwww... how sweet is that?

This is Nancy's basket - she did hers in more of a blue colorway which is equally as beatuiful. Plus, check out all the accessories. Can you believe it? Another of our KSSG projects will be to make the little draw string button bag which I just love.

Back to Judy for a minute - check this out:

Yep, the KSSG is going to make one of these gorgeous dolls that Judy designed! Don't you love it? Don't you want one? Do you want to join our guild yet? Seriously, I can't wait to make her and put her in my craft room with the gal I got at the SA store. Remember her?

Won't they be great together? I'm giddy with anticipation!

Here's another of Judy's projects. I am not sure who the designer was so my apologies for that but this little case is just breathtaking. Judy did such a good job and has such a treasure with this pretty piece.

All closed up:

The outisde:

The inside:

Giddy I tell you, I'm giddy! Is this an overachieving group of women or what?
Finally, Nancy has not only that one goregeous basket with all the accessories, she has another one as well, for another guild she belongs to. I took these pictures last October but didn't post them, so here they are now. Two special baskets? Are you kidding me? Can you say overachiever? ;-)

Here is a show and share from another KSSG member, Paulette. Check out all the breadcloths she has made. Aren't they lovely?

These are so pretty, can you really imagine using them for the named purpose? Not me!

The last bit of eye candy for today is a stunning piece designed and finished by MarLynn. She's another super talented gal that always has a smile on her face and is just as sweet as can be. Hold onto your socks cause this is incredible:
Left side of bird:

Top of bird:

Right side of bird:

Birds belly:

And Here's beautiful MarLynn her own sweet, little self, holding her stunning creation. It sits on top of the thread bobbin and is just so pretty. You all want one, don't you? Are you ready to join our guild???? LOL!

I just really wanted to share this with you today. Some things just can't wait. Thank you ladies, all of you, for making the KSSG such a joy! To all of you at KSSG who have told me you read and enjoy my blog - thank you so much. I appreciate you taking a moment to say something far more than you know.

Thank you too, to all my dear readers, who take a minute or two out of your own life to leave me a note. They're special, they're so appreciated and I thank you!!! You, my wonderful readers are just the best and I send you lots of love, hugs and wishes for an outstanding week ahead. It's coming up on a year of blogging soon so I'm going to have to find something special to do for that. Stay tuned. Until then...

Peace,
Terri

Hey Terri - weren't all those beautiful things enough to get your blood boiling with creativity? I felt just like you - giddy with excitement, but at the same time wondering where in the heck I'm going to find the time to fit them all in? I think the pictures came out just fine. Now it's going to be hard to wait until next month to see what other things they come up with!! Did you start your band tonight? LOL

Terri...I thought of the KSSG this morning. I love Mary Lynn..she was one of my favorites. I think Sharon is a wonderful president for the guild also. Nice pieces...so inspiring! Your pictures are beautiful! I love that basket. I had purchased one with the group back in 2006 when i was a member, but of course, it sits in my closet. Now, if I could only quit my day job or win the lotto...I might be able to stitch more! Thanks so much for sharing..

Terri, if you practice your stitching finishing, you'll get as good as your guild buddies. But, your furniture finishing is the best I've ever seen! So, don't ever sell yourself short--I think YOU rock, girl!

What amazing finishes, I love all the baskets and the bird is wonderful with it's 'needle weaving' tummy, which I thought at first was a piece of fabric. Treasure your Guild and it's members.

The bands are gorgeous and all the other projects too.
The one you mentioned that you do not know the designer of is by Jackie du Plessis, in May she is teaching us in the UK, you might like to see her website http://www.itsfineallyfinished.com/

A great Guild indeed and can imagine you come home on a high.

Finishing is definitely a talent Terri but I think you can also do simple finishing if you just jump in and give it a try - I'm giving myself a pep talk here too - I have a little BBD piece I stitched before christmas but have yet to take the plunge and try finishing it. Love all the photos from your guild members finishes - WOW WOW WOW - what a talented bunch. I belong to several "away" guilds and they too are very talented ladies - just wish I could be more active - I keep thinking that creativity might rub off on me - I love your blog and it always feels like a visit with a good friend when you post. happy stitching Mel

The ladies at your guild are very talented aren't they? Such beautiful things! I really enjoyed seeing your sewing room - what a joy it must be to sit and there and peruse your stash! :-)

Oh Terri, this is truely some eye candy. These ladies are all so creative. Isn't it wonderful to see all these beautiful things all together? I'd love to visit such a guild meeting but there is nothing like that around here, no guilds, no stitching expositions, no nothing. Enjoy your guild.

What gorgeous treasures! I'm especially wild for the baskets, and I'm assuming that each stitcher decides how to make their own band. That'd be fun. It's great that ya'll have such a motivating place to go hang out.
