Five Rounds with Mike Tyson!

Tyler's surgery went well. He was in surgery for about an hour and 15 minutes but was in recovery for almost two hours. Teenage boys just LOVE to sleep and put a little anesthesia into the mix and WheW - there's no waking them up! When Rob and I were finally able to go back and see him I about burst into tears - he truly looked like he had gone a couple of rounds with a heavy weight boxer. His left eye is black and blue and swollen shut and the right side of his face is also swollen and bruised. But, they fixed the eye - he has stitches in his nose where they took the graft to fix the orbital bone and stitches in his eye as well. He will heal and will be fine, although no gym or sports for 6 weeks. THAT will kill him. Thank you all so much for your notes and prayers; I appreciate them more than you know.

I have a lot I want to show you but first, drum roll, please. The winner of my follower/commenter giveaway is ANDREA! I have almost everything together Andrea, but it won't get mailed till this weekend. I hope you'll like everything!

Before I show you my Goodwill finds, I want to show you my Olympic Finish. I started it during the Olympics but didn't finish it till after. This is "Her Sampler" by CHS. I stitched it on 36 count Buttercream with DMC, one thread over two.

I also started working on BBD, Honeysuckle Manor. But... I don't like the colors of the flowers so I'm going to frog them and do them in more of a pink tone. This color just looks muddy to me and I don't care for it, at all. So, before I get much more done, I'll be doing the froggy rippit dance.

Now..... onto my finds. Nothing, except the dishes I'm going to show you cost more than $4 a piece. Are you ready for some heavy duty pictures? These are things I've found over the last few weeks. Remember, it's warming up and folks are doing their spring cleaning!

First up, this little Fitz and Floyd salt and pepper set. How cute are these guys? $4.

This little milk glass dish was $1.99 - I just need to find a flower frog to go in it.

How about this cute little pair of angels - they were $1.95 each:

I loved these pink Hall China bowls for $3 each - I just LOVE the color! And, how about the pretty serving bowl with the pink flowers on the outside- this was $4 ~ won't these be pretty on a table and really, cheaper than paper products:

Or how about this pretty, old, mixing bowl with the garland of Pink Roses on the inside? Summer, red skinned potato salad will be beautiful in this $2 beauty:

It was definitely my time for Pink! Look what else I found:

I can't remember exactly how much these were but they weren't more than $3 each.
And, if you haven't had enough yet, how about these cuties:

Can't you just picture all these pretties on a table with these dishes that I got for all of $18 ~ service for 8. Not a chip or crack in any of them:

Believe it or not, I've got a couple of more fun finds but they'll wait for another post. Have a great day everyone, thanks for the prayers for Tyler and all of us.
Peace,
Terri

OK, so how did I miss the post about your son's eye????? I scrolled down and read it and can't even believe it! I'm so sorry you all have been through all this, how traumatizing for everyone. Glad to know he'll be alright and I will be praying for his speedy recovery. (please forgive me for not seeing your other post, not sure what happened!)

Also, I can't believe I won something from you especially since I didn't even know there was a drawing or contest or anything, lol! Lucky me! Thank you!

I absolutely adore your CHS finish! That is one of my very favorite designs and has been in my stash for years, not sure why I haven't stitched it yet. Seeing your perfect finish is an inspiration to get busy on it. Of course, you'll have it framed in a week or so and really send me over the edge, you're good like that ;-)
LOL!

Your Goodwill finds are super awesome! I especially love the F&F bunnies :-) I have a pair, they are F&F, a sugar bowl and creamer, they are really more winter in theme, but I keep them on the kitchen windowsill year round because they're adorable and make me smile while doing the dishes. My mother passed them on to me, she used to collect tons of F&F. They make the sweetest animals, don't you think?
Anyway, you're the Queen of great thrift finds, I'm so impressed.

Hugs to you and Tyler. I think you need a big honkin' margarita after all you've been through, lol!

xoxo

I am so glad to hear that all went good with Tyler.

Your finds are just amazing! And I love love love the CHS - that I will have to buy that's for sure. Now all I need is more hours in the day. I know I should spend far less time on this computer - that will do it.

Please accept the award I gave you and give us your 7 things we didn't know about you.

Lots of Love

Terri,

Glad to hear Tyler's surgery went well this morning. Hope he has an easy and swift recovery.

Your Olympics finish is beautiful.

My favorite Goodwill spot was wiped out by Katrina (and so were all it's donors) so it has been slim pickin's -- congratulations on your finds.

I'm so happy to hear you Son's surgery went well and I'm wishing him a speedy recovery. Love your Olympic finish and agree with you over the color of the BBD flowers, I think something pinker would stand out better. Congrats to the winner :)

Terri, I am so happy to hear about that surgery went well for your son - what an ordeal. Praying that his recovery time will be quick - how frustrating to have all that youthful energy and not be able to do anything with it.

Wow, you have been a busy lady. It looks like stitching Elizabeth Savilles has you in a 'pink mood' - I love all your wonderful thrifty finds. Pink is one of my favorite colors.

Looking forward to seeing what you have going on with your needle and thread.

Have a good evening, Terri.

So good to hear the surgery went well. That must let you calm down a bit. Hope he continues to improve and recover quickly. (I missed the earlier post too.. didn't read past the contest stuff I guess... sorry ).

Your CHS piece is gorgeous. And I love all those cute thrift store fines. You really have a retro sensibility.

Glad to hear that Tyler is doing well after his surgery! I know that really not being active the next few weeks is just going to be the pits for him. But the stories he can tell with his black eye! But glad to hear that everything went well.

Love your finish Terri! That's a really great piece. And boo on the colors for Honeysuckle Manor - you'll have to let me know what you use for it because I have to agree that the colors do look muddy.

And great thrift shop finds. My grandmother has a milk glass bowl just like that. Too bad I didn't take it, but back when she passed away I didn't see the potential of making it into a scissor frog! Great purchases though. And congratulations to Andrea!

Hey Terrie
Can you hear me cheering for you guys. Really thrilled to hear all went well today. Our oldest DD had knee surgery in high school, so I know what it 's like to have them go under, wait, then see them again. We know they'll be OK, but the relief! Now, hope he doesn't drive you too crazy. When can he go back to school?
I love your flea market find, and btw, I have that very same milk bowl!!
Your handwork is beautiful. Too bad we live so far apart, we could stitch, and shop together. My DH and hit the thrift shops often.
Blessings,
Linda

Congratulations to Andrea! I just love your CHS sampler! All the buttons around it look great. Will you use them in finishing? I have done that with changing colors mid stream. Sometimes, I just can't work with a color if I don't like it.

Wow. You got some great finds! I love that larger bowl!
