Long may She Wave!

Hello Dear Friends!

Guess what? I, the woman who is afraid of finishing, who trembles at the sight of a sewing machine, has finished-finished a little project! I know.... hard to believe. You may recall that I am heading to Utah this fall to attend the Shepherd's Bush retreat. To say I am thrilled is an understatement. Julie and I are going to meet up with Jolene and Loraine for a tour, shopping, and a party night get together. I can't wait to meet my sweet friends in person! I didn't think it would be proper to attend a Shepherd's Bush event and not have a SB scissor fob so that's what I've finished. Okay, granted, this isn't the most fallish of designs - in fact, it's not fallish at all but it's what I had in my stash (thanks, Deb) and I thought I'd give it a go. Drumroll please.....

I wasn't crazy about their red ric-rac so I used this that I had in my stash. I love the colors in it and thought it matched the piece wonderfully. I tacked it down all around and then tacked the edges together on the hangy part after I looped it through my scissors. What do you think?

I'm thrilled with how it turned out and maybe, just maybe I'm getting over my fear of finishing!

BTW, I just wanted to tell you all - those flower frogs in my last post... I didn't buy any of them! Sorry if I gave you that impression. I just wanted to share their unusual shapes and colors with all of you so I snapped some pictures of the display.

This may be my shortest post in ages. Have a great weekend - thanks for stopping by and thank you for all the sweet notes you leave me. Welcome to my new followers - I'm so glad you've joined me for this journey! Have a great weekend; I'll catch you on the flip side!

Peace,
Terri

It looks great Terri. I think that your trim is much better looking than that rick-rack in the package. And as the person above said - don't underestimate your finishing skills.

I love your fob! You did a beautiful job of finishing (and stitching too)! I've read more and more where people are getting over the fear of finishing and doing it themselves. I think it makes the piece a little more personal.

Nice finish, Terri...you do good work! I am so jealous that you're going to Utah in the fall...perhaps I will just slide into your car at the closet K.S. meeting to your departure meeting. If I become a fixture, you'll not notice until it's too late to toss me out! LOL

Terri, I LOVE your little fob!!! Such a wonderful job and great substitution with the edging. It really goes well with it. I can sympathise with your fear of finishing because I'm very much like that and try to steer clear of anything that needs to be 'completed in this way'.

I'm so excited that you're going to the SB retreat this year! I bet you have a ball meeting up with everyone. You girls will have fun with your shopping and catching up. I'm really wanting to go to a SB retreat in the future, so I hope to meet you at one of them. I think you would be a lot of fun to share this experience with. Keep us posted on anything about the retreat.
