in a good way.
Have you seen these, yet?
Ball Canning Jars, to celebrate their 100th anniversary,
has released a new, blue jar! Yippee!
I don't know about you but I love those old, blue jars!
These were too cute to pass up and were a must to add to my collection.
If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen this so, my apologies for boring you with them again! But, I had to share!
Pics are clickable.
Even the packaging looks vintage.
I found mine at Lowe's but I'd imagine you can get them about anywhere that sells canning supplies. The price... $9.99 for 6. I only wish they made them in more sizes.
Speaking of collections, I normally house my jars in my craft room but I brought them outside to show you how I use mine and how these new jars compare to the old.
The new jars seem a bit brighter than the old ones but they blend perfectly!
Pretty, don't you think?
As you can see, I've got all kinds of blue jars and they're all
from the Ball Company.
After I took the pics of the canning jars nestled in my fabulous, pink bubble wrap, I had to have a pic wrapped up in it.
What could be more fun than pink bubble wrap?
Nothing. That's what.
I did not get to run in the 10K (6.2 miles) in Richmond. VA. :-( My knee was not any better by the time of the race, so I had to bow out.
My dad however, ran the race and I am so proud of him!
He ran it in 1 hour and 18 minutes!
He said that was not his best time and I think he was a little disappointed,
but I think it's awesome!
I am so proud of him.
He is 77 years young and getting younger every day.
He is an inspiration to me and to so many others as well
for his hard charging run at life!
These pics were taken at various points along the race so they're not the best shots, but you get the idea.
Way to go, Dad! I'm super proud of you!
I hope I look nearly this good at 60, much less 77!
Well, I hope I don't look quite so masculine but you know what I mean, right?
I finished my Margaret Cottam Sampler by La D Da.
She is stitched on 36 count WDW with 2 over 2.
I added two colors of floss to this - a lighter pink by WDW - Red Pear and Caper, also by WDW for the grass and the trees.
The colors originally charted for this just weren't working for me after I started stitching it, so I decided to add some pink, and I love how it turned out.
I also put in a few eyelet stitches for interest.
That's it for today, my friends! I hope you are all doing well and that Spring has finally sprung, where you are.
I have been singing this song all day:
It has indeed been a long, cold, lonely winter.
But finally... "Here Comes the Sun".
Have a listen. It will make you happy.
We miss you, George!
Remember, if nothing else works for you:
Loving all things British, today!
Have a great weekend, my friends and thanks so much for stopping by.
Welcome to my new followers, I'm so glad you're here and I so appreciate you taking a moment to leave me a note.
Be well,
Peace!
Terri

Congratulations to your Dad. I couldn't sprint to my mailbox. My nephew's fiancé got my 4 dozen of very old and very large blue jars for her collection, right before she broke up with him!

Sorry to hear that your knee kept you from joining the 10K run. But your father made up for both of you, lol. Congratulations to him - me too, I'd like to be as fit as he is when I'll be 77.

Love the color enhancements you made to the sampler; it makes it all the more sweet looking!! Hope your knee is in better condition soon. Congrats to your dad, he is an inspiration!!! Heading out to play in my flower beds very shortly, have a super Spring weekend.
Got my jars! I too noticed the color ~ I was wondering if age has anything to do with it ~ but it is probably more the glassmaking process tht has changed.
Congrats to your dad ~ he is amazing!! I don't think I could do that!
Beautiful finish. Love the colors in that sampler.
Enjoy your weekend!
Gotta love those blue Ball jars, both old and new. There's something so summery about a fresh bouquet arranged in one.

Margaret is just beautiful - I love how you personalize and tweak colors in your work. I don't seem to be adventurous that way. LOVE the blue Ball jars - I'll be on my way to the local Lowes tomorrow night to see if they have any down here. Sorry you didn't get to make the run - glad your dad did so well. Mel
Wow congrats to your dad!!!!!!! That's so awesome, sorry you couldn't race with him.
Love the blue jars and your Margaret is gorgeous. I may have to copy you if you don't mind??? I always prefer a bit of pink over too peachy colors.
Your jars look so pretty when you group them like that and use them as vases.
Your sampler is just beautiful. I always go for more pink! And you look lovely wrapped in it!
Yea for your Dad! We all gotta just keep on keepin' on as best as we can!
A belated note to let you know how much I enjoyed this blog post.
My husband wanted to go to Home depot to pick up some things, and I convinced him to go to Lowes instead so I could get some of those wonderful blue jars....now I need to decide what to do with them.
Sorry you weren't able to do the run, but a big congrats to your father.
And your sampler---another finish for your collection.
What a riot you are with the pink bubble wrap. I've never seen anyone modeling it before--maybe a new career for you?
Hey Terri - I've been seeing those great blue jars several places lately - love your flowers displayed in them! Looks like you've been doing lots of cross stitch lately - wish I had the patience to do some myself, but it just ain't happening! LOL
Love your finish of Margaret Cottam, and I hope you don't mind if I borrow your color choices. I've been holding off on starting mind because I just wasn't happy with the dark colors, but hadn't taken the time to really sit down and figure out what to change.
You and your pink bubble wrap--so cute, Terri :) I hadn't seen those blue jars, but Lowe's is right next to the library where I work, so you know where I'll be on my lunch hour!!
Your sampler is gorgeous--love the colors! Sorry you couldn't make the run with your dad, but how nice that you could be there to cheer him on. I do love Richmond and my oldest son is seriously talking about moving back down there (he graduated from UR) this summer so I'll have a good excuse to visit :)
Love your finish-so pretty, it makes me want to pull mine out and start it. However, I won't be as quick as you-LOL Congrats to your Dad! That is awesome. Who knew bubble wrap could be so becoming? ;-)
