Happy Fridays are Good Fridays!

This has been a fun day! I was off work today so Julie, her DD Meghan and I all met in Holly to go to Holly Hill Primitives! to shop at the most wonderful prim, antique store. I met Dawn via her blog and had such fun meeting her and her assistant, Debbie. You must go, if you ever get the chance!

Dawn is on the left and that's me, double chin and all, on the right!

Julie and I bought all kinds of goodies - it's probably a good thing for me that this darling shop isn't closer to me than it is.

That's BFF Julie on the left with her sweet Meghan between the two of us (I never realized I was quite as short as I am!). That big, kind of green, taupe colored quilt rack behind us came home with me. I LOVE it! It fit perfectly between the posts of our bed and I can't wait for Rob to hang it. I felt bad though because as they were taking it down, a candle got broken. Glad I wasn't the one trying to maneuver that thing off the wall.

I also bought this little footstool that will eventually make it up to my bedroom as well.

Those are the "big" purchases. I also came home with a few other goodies:

Another night light to add to my "collection" ~ I have such a "thing" for night lights....

a couple of cute bags to hand from my new rack:

an antique towel holder and a towel to go on it:

and finally, this cute little pin cushion, scissors holder that hangs around your neck! How cute is that? I can see making some of these with stitched pieces to give as gifts!

Here's a shot of the rack that Julie bought for her craft room. That's Meghan holding it - I thought she looked like an angel with big wings - a faceless angel, yes, but an angel.

Finally, here's a pic of Matt headed off to Spring Break. He's excited - I'm panic stricken. I don't know how I'm going to sleep for the next week - I may need some "mother's little helpers"....

So, while not much (any) stitching or floor painting got done, I had one heck of a Good Friday! I met a new friend, hung out with a best friend and her sweet daughter and spent money (that part I love, Rob - not so much)!

Thanks so much to all of you who leave a comment ~ I so appreciate it. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter full of blessings!
Peace,
Terri

Wow, Terri! That shop looks wonderful! Looks like you had a great time -- good stash, lady! How about that quilt that was on your new quilt rack? Did you get that too? :D I'm into hexagon quilts at the moment. Try not to worry about your son. I know it will be hard but do your best. He'll have a great time and he'll come home safe and sound!

Woo hoo, what a good time you had, adding to your collection! And I recognized a certain garden on your wall that has been my sole project for two weeks.

As for your son's trip ... Ambien has been a friend to me once in a while. He'll have a great time.

Terri you are such a darling. What fun to meet a new friend with old friends. I'm always telling my 'face-to-face' friends about all my new 'stitching-blog' friends. It's just way too much fun. What a wonderful GOOD Friday you had...me too...just stitching away watching TIVO stuff. Anyway... thanks for sharing your trip, purchases, and family. Have a wonderful Easter weekend. HUGS and Happy Stitching,,,,,

What a wonderful day you had with friends and such a sweet shop! I love night lights also, especially fall and winter themed lights - the one that you found is darling! And it never matters how old our children are - we will always worry about them, even when they are having a great time! Enjoy your weekend too!

You look to be having a fantastic time - isn't shopping fun. I love the night light you bought and I am in awe of your ATS all beautifully framed. I wonder if I would ever get that finished if I started it?

Terri, I am so jealous--that looks like such a fabulous shop! Your new acquisitions are wonderful, too. Now take some pics to show us how you are displaying everything!

Safe travels to your son. I am sure he'll be fine and have a blast but I also know that you won't be totally at peace until he's back home safely!

Have a great Easter!

Good morning Terri,
First off....THANK YOU for visiting my blog - I hope to see you visit again and Good Luck on the drawing!!!!

I love your quilt rack and the color is delicious...one of my favorites.
And all the other goodies you purchased are wonderful...I hope you will post pictures of them in their resting places.

I'm so happy you met Dawn.
Hopefully I will get to meet her in August at our GATHERING OF FRIENDS in Pennsylvania. She has signed up to 'hopefully go'.
Why don't you consider going - you (or anyone) can read all about it here: http://mycolonialhome.blogspot.com/2009/03/brainstorm.html

Terri - You got some great things. Love the quilt rack and I do love the color of it and the bags will look so nice hanging from it. And your steps - actually they don't look bad under your ATS! That nightlight is so adorable too. I have to say that Dawn's shop is definitely a dangerous place to go, don't ya think? We'll have to plan a trip together on one of your days off. Hope you've gotten over a little of your anxiety with Matt's trip, although I know that won't completely disappear until he's safely home. Hope you have a great Easter Terri, and I'll see you next week at Guild. And don't eat too much chocolate tomorrow!!!

Uuuuuuhhh, it looks like you had a fantastic time treasure hunting. And you made some wonderful purchases.
I admire you for your stamina to stitch the beautiful BIG "And They Sinned". It is in my stash, too. But I am pretty sure I shouldn't start it :)
Hopefully you can distract yourself from the worries about your son....he will have a great time and be back soon. Hope you are having a wonderful Easter.
